What's in a Name?

Runcible (rən(t)-sə-bəl) is a nonsense word created by Edward Lear. It appears in many of his works, most notably The Owl and the Pussycat. Although many have tried to define ‘runcible’, Lear himself did not appear to assign it any literal meaning, rather invented it for it’s sound and sensory appeal.
We chose ‘runcible’ because of it’s limitless meanings and connotations; because of it’s ambiguity; and mostly because we liked it.
We also like the idea of our audience and ourselves defining the work we make, rather than adhering to a specific self imposed agenda.
So rather than pontificating about Bob Runcie and fancy sporks - a quick google search will give you plenty on that - we invite you to share our brand of theatre. Have a truly runcible experience.
By the way, a dinner of mince and quince is optional, but highly recommended for amorous felines and fowls.
