The Show

Love, Loss & Chianti is a great opportunity to see the work of one of the Britain’s finest living poets performed amongst the spectacular contemporary art at the Gruen Galleries. The evening will feature two poems by Reid; the first poem A Scattering explores love and loss, the second poem The Song of Lunch involves a lot of drinking, hence the title of the show! A Scattering won the Costa Book Of The Year, and is about the death of Reid’s wife. Never mawkish, it is a beautiful and ultimately uplifting evocation of grief. The second, The Song Of Lunch is about a disastrous date in an Italian restaurant in Soho, hilarious and poignant.
